Commercial — Beauty & Wellness

Project RESOLVE is a full interior design project for a high-end beauty salon in Dubai — a commercial space conceived as a complete sensory journey from the very first step inside.

For a wellness business, the interior is not a backdrop — it is part of the product. The brief was to design a salon that would justify a premium positioning, support the way the business operates day to day and give clients a reason to return.

The programme is rich and varied: a welcoming reception, a hair salon, treatment rooms, a massage suite and a tanning room. Each function has different needs for privacy, acoustics and atmosphere, so each zone was given its own character while remaining part of a single, coherent whole.

Every corner was crafted to evoke calm and wellbeing, to elevate the brand’s luxury image and to enhance the overall client experience. The design language embraces sculptural forms, soothing neutral tones, curated lighting and organic textures.

Lighting was treated as a central design tool, shaping the mood of each room and guiding clients gently through the space — soft and intimate in the treatment areas, brighter and more confident at reception.

Materials and finishes were specified for a commercial setting, where surfaces face constant use and have to keep their finish — durability and easy maintenance were designed in from the start, not added later.

The result is a refined, holistic environment that feels both contemporary and deeply relaxing, and that works as hard for the business as it does for the client.

For a wellness business, the interior is part of what the client pays for. A salon that looks and feels considered supports a premium price in a way that signage and marketing cannot — the space itself is the strongest argument for the positioning.

Each function — reception, hair, treatment, massage, tanning — was designed around how staff actually move and work. A commercial interior that ignores operations looks good and runs badly; here, circulation and zoning were resolved so the salon is efficient as well as beautiful.

Lighting was used to choreograph the client’s journey: brighter and more confident at reception, progressively softer and more intimate toward the treatment rooms. The shift in atmosphere is what makes the visit feel like an experience rather than an appointment.

Commercial surfaces face constant use, water, products and cleaning. Materials were specified to keep their finish under that pressure, because a tired interior undermines a luxury positioning faster than almost anything else.

The result is an interior that works as a commercial asset — it elevates the brand, supports day-to-day operations and gives clients a reason to return. For a service business, that is a measurable contribution, not a decorative one.

A salon is judged by its clients the moment they walk in, long before a treatment begins. The reception was designed to make that first impression do real work — to signal the standard of the business and set the tone for the visit.

Acoustics and privacy were planned alongside the look. Treatment and massage rooms need quiet and discretion; reception can carry more energy. Designing those needs in from the start is what lets a single space hold several different atmospheres.

Organic textures and sculptural forms were chosen to carry the wellness idea physically. A client does not analyse an interior; they feel it, and tactile, rounded, natural elements communicate calm faster than any sign on the wall.

Project RESOLVE reflects Studio PASE’s approach to commercial interior design in Dubai: spaces that look beautiful, support the way a business operates and strengthen its brand — because for a beauty and wellness business, a well-designed interior is a genuine commercial asset.
