Project MONTAIGNE is a luxury apartment renovation and decoration project in the 8th arrondissement of Paris — an address synonymous with elegance, fashion and grand Parisian architecture.

The owner asked Studio PASE to reimagine a 110 m² apartment as a refined, modern home inspired by the timeless glamour of Art Deco — a complete project covering both the architectural renovation and the decoration, handled by a single studio.

The renovated layout includes a dedicated entrance, a spacious bedroom, two luxurious bathrooms, a separate WC and an elegant living and dining room served by a separate kitchen. Each space was planned to balance comfort, privacy and a sense of occasion, so the apartment works as well for everyday life as for receiving guests.

The design draws on modern Art Deco — a style defined by sophistication, symmetry and rich materials — reinterpreted for contemporary living. Soft pastel tones set a calm, luminous base, while marble finishes and brass details add depth, warmth and a quiet sense of luxury.

The challenge of an Art Deco-inspired scheme is to evoke the period without pastiche. Its influence appears in the geometry of the joinery, the considered lighting and the curated furniture, yet the overall atmosphere stays current and uncluttered — glamorous without being ostentatious.

Every finish and furnishing was selected for quality and longevity, with custom details that make the apartment feel tailored to its space rather than simply furnished. Buying and building well once is what allows an interior of this level to age gracefully.

The result is a home that feels both distinctive and durable — an apartment whose value rests on the quality of its renovation and the coherence of its decoration, not on passing trends.

An Art Deco-inspired scheme succeeds or fails on restraint. The influence had to be felt — in the geometry, the materials, the proportions — without tipping into pastiche, so the period was used as a vocabulary rather than copied as a costume.

Renovation and decoration were handled as a single project. Designing the structural work and the finishes together is what keeps a luxury interior coherent — the joinery, the lighting and the furniture belong to one idea rather than three.

Marble and brass were used as accents, not as a blanket. Against the calm pastel base, they add depth and a quiet sense of luxury exactly where the eye lands, while the overall scheme stays uncluttered and current.

Custom details were specified throughout so the apartment feels tailored to its space rather than furnished into it. Bespoke joinery resolves storage and proportion at once — the mark of a luxury interior is that nothing looks added afterwards.

Every finish was chosen for longevity as much as for looks. An apartment at this level holds its value through the quality of the work behind it, and an interior built to age gracefully is part of that value, not separate from it.

The 8th arrondissement carries a particular expectation of elegance, and the brief answered it with an Art Deco influence rather than a literal revival — a scheme that feels grand without belonging to another era.

Symmetry and proportion did much of the work. Art Deco’s discipline lies in its order; resolving the joinery and the layout around that order is what gives the apartment its calm, composed presence.

Soft pastel tones were chosen as the base so the apartment feels luminous and calm. Against that quiet ground, the marble and brass register as deliberate moments of richness rather than constant noise.

Project MONTAIGNE reflects how Studio PASE approaches luxury apartment interior design in Paris: blending architectural renovation with decoration to deliver a home that is elegant, comfortable and unmistakably Parisian.
