What interior decoration covers

Interior decoration is the layer of an interior that the eye actually reads first — the furniture, the lighting, the textiles, the materials, the artwork and the small details that turn a finished apartment into a coherent room. Studio PASE’s decoration service takes an existing space — a freshly handed-over Dubai apartment, a recent renovation or a unit that simply needs to feel resolved — and gives it the identity, atmosphere and warmth that elevate it.

It is the service most often requested by Dubai investors who own a habitable apartment that does not need building work, but does need to look and feel like a designed home. Whether your style is modern, classic or eclectic, we work closely with you to create a space that reflects your taste and intended use, while staying within a clear budget.

The goal of the study is to maximise how the space lives — its ergonomics, its light, its sense of generosity — while harmonising every decorative element so the apartment reads as one thought rather than a collection of purchases. We focus not only on what each room is, but on how every element relates to the next: scale, texture, palette and the rhythm between furniture, light and emptiness.

Decoration or interior architecture — which one do you need?

Decoration and interior architecture solve different problems. Interior architecture redraws the space itself — walls, kitchens, bathrooms, joinery and the lighting plan — and is the right service when an apartment needs renovation, reconfiguration or any meaningful structural work. Decoration takes a space that already works architecturally and gives it character, comfort and a finished identity.

For Dubai apartments delivered new from a developer, the question often answers itself: the architecture is fixed, the layout works, and the next step is decoration. For older apartments or those being reconfigured for short-term rental, the two services often run together — the architecture is adjusted first, then decoration brings the result to life. If you are unsure, send us your floor plan and a few photos; we will tell you honestly which service the apartment actually needs.

Decoration for a short-term rental

When the apartment is destined for Airbnb or holiday-home use, decoration carries a heavier weight than in a private home. A guest decides whether to book your apartment from a handful of listing photos, and decides whether to review it well based on how the space actually feels when they walk in. Both of those moments are decided by decoration — the bed, the lighting, the textiles, the styling and the small details that signal care.

We approach short-term rental decoration with that reality in mind. The pieces are chosen for how they photograph, how they wear under frequent turnover and how they read at a glance to a guest who has never been in the apartment before. A coherent, intentional interior is what allows a Dubai apartment to stand out from the dozens of similar units on the same platform and to hold a stronger nightly rate.

The process

The decoration study begins with a first meeting — in person in Dubai or remotely by video, depending on where you are. Most of our Dubai clients are based abroad, so the whole process is built to be approved remotely, with no requirement to be on site. The first conversation covers the essentials: identifying your needs and constraints, understanding your taste and budget, and addressing any specific requests or features of the project.

We then carry out a detailed analysis of the space — from a floor plan and photographs you provide, or via a site visit when possible, with on-site measurement available as an optional add-on. We outline the scope of the project and propose initial directions for layout, materials, furniture and equipment, so we can align quickly on the brief.

Once your preferences are confirmed, we move into the in-depth design phase: a personalised mood board for each room, a detailed 3D layout that lets you visualise the future space, and realistic visuals — sketches, photographs and 3D renderings — so nothing is left to imagination. Two rounds of revisions are included to refine the proposal until it matches your vision precisely.

After approval, you receive a comprehensive shopping list that itemises every piece of furniture, lighting, paint, material and decorative element selected for your home — sourced and specified so you can order yourself, or so Studio PASE can handle procurement and installation as part of an extended scope.

Materials, finishes and sourcing

A decoration scheme is only as good as the pieces specified inside it. We work with a mix of international and locally available suppliers in Dubai, balancing lead time, budget, design intent and — for short-term rentals — the durability the asset will need over years of use. Materials are chosen to age well, to clean easily and to photograph clearly, with a particular attention to the textures and finishes that give an interior the depth a flat scheme lacks.

For Studio PASE, sourcing is not a separate phase from design — it is part of it. The mood board, the 3D layout and the shopping list belong to the same logic; what is drawn in the renders is what arrives in the apartment.

Working with owners abroad

Many of our decoration clients in Dubai do not live in the city, or do not have the time to manage a fit-out themselves. The service is built around that reality: every milestone — concept, mood board, 3D visuals, final shopping list — is shared and approved by video call and digital file, so you can run the project from Paris, London, Geneva or São Paulo without ever needing to be in Dubai. If you would like Studio PASE to handle procurement, delivery, assembly and final styling as well, that is offered as an extended scope and discussed in the proposal.
