Project LAMBALLE is a complete transformation of a Haussmann-style apartment in the heart of the prestigious 8th arrondissement of Paris. Studio PASE handled the project end to end — from architectural renovation through to turnkey furnishing — delivering a Parisian apartment ready to be lived in or let.

The brief was investment-led: take a compact, dated apartment and make it both more comfortable and more valuable, with a single studio managing every stage so the owner did not have to coordinate trades from a distance.

At 67 m², the apartment demanded an intelligent use of every square metre. The existing layout — originally a single bedroom with a closed kitchen — was completely rethought: the kitchen was opened into the living space and a second bedroom was created, significantly increasing both the comfort and the rental value of the apartment.

This was the decisive move of the project. Adding a usable second bedroom changes what an apartment can earn and who it can be let to — a clear example of how interior architecture, not just decoration, drives the return on a property.

The renovation involved genuine architectural work, including the partial removal of a load-bearing wall — a technically demanding operation that the studio coordinated from major construction through to the decorative finishes, an illustration of Studio PASE’s ability to manage complex, high-level renovations.

The interior was designed in a contemporary style: clean lines, a warm neutral palette and a careful balance of natural light and storage that makes the compact apartment feel calm and generous rather than tight.

As a turnkey furnishing project, every element was curated and installed by the studio — furniture, lighting, textiles and decoration — so the apartment was delivered complete and immediately ready to live in or to rent, with nothing left for the owner to source.

The project was approached as an investment decision first and a decoration project second. Every choice — the second bedroom, the open kitchen, the furniture specification — was weighed for what it would add to the comfort, the appeal and the value of the apartment.

Creating a second usable bedroom is the clearest example of design driving return. It widens the pool of tenants or guests the apartment can serve and changes what it can command — a structural decision, not a cosmetic one.

Removing part of a load-bearing wall is demanding work, and coordinating it alongside the finishes is where many renovations falter. Studio PASE managed the project from major construction through to the decorative detail, so the owner dealt with one studio rather than a chain of trades.

At 67 m², discipline matters: storage, circulation and light had to be resolved precisely so the apartment feels generous rather than tight. A small footprint rewards careful planning more than a large one forgives the lack of it.

As a turnkey furnishing project, the apartment was delivered complete — furniture, lighting, textiles and styling installed — and immediately ready to live in or let. For an owner who could not coordinate the work in person, that handover is the point of the service.

The 8th arrondissement is one of Paris’s most established addresses, where the value of an apartment rests as much on the quality of its interior as on its location. The project was scoped to make the most of both.

A warm neutral palette and clean contemporary lines were chosen to appeal broadly — to a tenant, a guest or a future buyer alike. An interior that does not depend on one person’s taste is a more flexible, more valuable asset.

Opening the kitchen into the living space did more than add light. It changed how the apartment is used — cooking becomes sociable, the rooms share their volume, and a compact flat starts to live like a larger one.

Project LAMBALLE demonstrates how thoughtful interior architecture and furnishing can unlock the full potential of a small Parisian apartment, improving both how it feels day to day and what it is worth on the market.
