Project ALESIA
Project ALESIA is a high-end interior renovation and decoration project in the 14th arrondissement of Paris — a district rich in culture and history, and one of the most pleasant residential areas on the Left Bank.
Studio PASE was entrusted with both the renovation and the decoration of this 95 m² apartment, taking the project from structural work through to the final styling — a single studio responsible for the whole transformation.
The brief was a family-scaled home that would feel modern and comfortable without losing its Parisian character. The renovated layout delivers exactly that: two spacious bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a separate WC and an open living area that seamlessly integrates the living room, dining room and kitchen.
Opening the living spaces was the key structural decision — it brings light and a sense of generosity to an apartment that, like many in Paris, had been divided into smaller, separate rooms.
The design embodies a contemporary yet cosy style. Clean, current lines are softened by warm materials and a welcoming palette, so the apartment feels modern without ever feeling cold.
As with the studio’s other Parisian projects, the architectural heritage is part of the design — elegant period details such as wall mouldings and Hungarian-point parquet, inspired by Haussmann apartments, are preserved and woven into the contemporary scheme.
Renovating and decorating in one project keeps the result coherent: the structural work and the finishes are designed together, so the apartment reads as a single, considered whole rather than a renovation that was decorated afterwards.
Opening the living spaces was the decision the whole project turned on. Many Parisian apartments are divided into small, separate rooms; bringing the living, dining and kitchen areas together is what gives a family-scaled home its light and its sense of generosity.
Handling the renovation and the decoration as one project keeps the result coherent. The structural work and the finishes were designed together, so the apartment reads as a single considered whole rather than a renovation decorated after the fact.
The contemporary scheme was kept warm on purpose. Clean, current lines are softened by tactile materials and a welcoming palette, so the apartment feels modern without the coldness that a purely minimal approach can bring to a family home.
As in the studio’s other Parisian work, period detail was preserved rather than erased. Mouldings and Hungarian-point parquet are woven into the contemporary design, keeping the character that gives a Paris apartment its lasting appeal and value.
A family home has to function as hard as it looks. Storage, circulation and the balance of shared and private space were resolved so the apartment supports daily life — the practical groundwork beneath a calm, contemporary interior.
The 14th arrondissement is one of the Left Bank’s most liveable districts, and the brief was a home for a family rather than a showpiece — comfortable, durable and easy to live in, while still distinctly Parisian.
Two full bathrooms and a separate WC were planned around how a family actually moves through a morning. Practical sequencing of this kind rarely shows in photographs, but it is what makes a home work day after day.
The open living area was designed to carry both everyday family life and the occasional gathering. A layout that flexes between the two — without rearranging furniture — is what makes a family apartment genuinely comfortable.
Project ALESIA illustrates how Studio PASE renovates and decorates apartments in Paris: combining architectural work with considered decoration to create a home that respects its history while answering the needs of modern life.
